Spike looked up from the last note and stared. All around him were the remains of wrapping paper and cardboard boxes. He gazed at the seven identical presents and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He settled for smiling as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He’d been afraid that no one would get him anything; that no one would care about him, so he’d told everyone he didn’t want presents for Christmas so it wouldn’t hurt as much when he didn’t get any. However, on Christmas Eve he’d gone outside his crypt to find a stack of boxes wrapped in bright colored paper outside his door. Guess maybe people cared about him after all.
