I WON!

*Happy dance! Happy dance*

It's not finished yet, but I validated my novel at 50,061 words today!
I haven't titled it yet. Maybe I should do that...

So, today is November 15th which means it marks the midpoint of Nanowrimo. I have ~25,500 words, which is just about perfect. Some people have already finished, which boggles my mind, but I'm telling myself that slow and steady wins the race.
My heroine has to get rescued now. I have no idea how that's going to happen. I hope the second half of the month isn't too much harder than the first!

Oh! And I used the Write or Die website for the first time this week. The 'evil sound' was the song Mmm bop, by Hanson. I laughed, hard.
Then I told my 17 year old step sister about it and she says, "Who's Hanson?"
I'm only 23, I'm not supposed to feel old yet! LOL.

I made it to 20,000 words today!
I'm on target so far. My plot is moving along, though my cast of characters is growing larger than I originally thought. Also, my main pairing both need some serious character development. They both need to gain some backbone. Right now the secondary characters are doing all the fighting for them, which is unacceptable.
My plot is mostly developing as I go along. I kinda know where I'm headed, but hell if I know how, or if, I'll end up there. For all I know right now this might end somewhere totally different than I think it will.
Despite all the problems with it, I'm enjoying this story, discovering it along the way. Anything can be fixed in editing, so I'm not worried. I just want to win NaNo! So I keep chugging along.

So it's day six of nanowrimo and I'm still on target with my word count. I made it to ~10,150 words. I feel good about it so far. Last night I came up with an idea to expand the plot, which is really good since I was worried about not having enough plot. I kinda like my bad guy, he's pretty twisted and evil, though I still need to figure out a redeeming quality for him. I'm hopeful that I will be able to finish!

I met my word count goal for the first two days of nano. I'm at 3,375 words. Tomorrow there is a write in at the library close to my house that I think I'm going to go to. Here's hoping I can keep up the momentum!

Also, anyone else think Grimm is a pretty blatant rip-off of supernatural? I feel like it's way too similar, they should have tried to change it up more. It's even the same time slot. I know which show I'll be watching.
Winchesters FTW!

So, I decided a couple weeks ago to do Nano. I've already completely discarded my original idea and started plotting a new one. Then yesterday I switched main characters, which doesn't change much, except that it changes EVERYTHING!
So yeah, freaking out a little since I'll be pantsing more than I'd like.

I'll try and post my progress every few days or so. Any advice from my flisters who have done this before?
It starts tomorrow. It starts at midnight!

Title: Fishing at the Lethe
Fandom: Dark Angel
Rating: R
Word Count: 1,156
Disclaimer: I don't own Dark Angel or any of it's characters. Missy is a character I created.
Summary: A new Transgenic shows up in Terminal City, and she recognizes Alec.
Warnings: Language and mentions of past torture and suicidal thoughts.
A/N: This was written for [livejournal.com profile] waltzmatildah who bought me over at [livejournal.com profile] fandomaid. She wanted Alec and angst, and while this isn't as angsty as I'd intended it to be, I hope she likes it!

So, I've been writing what I hope will turn out to be an original novel. I like it, and I'm enjoying writing it, but it's kind of all happy and light and sometimes I want to write dark and depressing. So that's what this is. Dark and depressing. You have been warned. This was inspired by the Dean Focused Tags Challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time.

Title: A Place to Sleep

Title: Yellow Eyes Stole My Soul
Rating: R
Pairing: Gen
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] jenilees
Art Post: Is here! Look at the the wonderful art, I love the mood in it :)
Summary: In an AU where the John chose to rejoin the military after Mary's death instead of becoming a hunter Sam is heading off to camp. You'd think he'd be excited, but there's this strange yellow-eyed man that keeps popping up.
Warnings: I feel like the warnings will give away the story. If you'd like to read them anyway click here.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sam or Dean. They belong to cooler people than me :)

A/N: I volunteered to be a pinch-hitter for [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang , and I'm glad I did. After a long spell of not really writing much, [livejournal.com profile] jenilees's art was just what I needed to get me going. I tried my best to give the art the story it deserves. Make sure you check it out!

Hello all! This is the first thing I've written in months. It was written for a prompt over at the Dean-focused hurt/comfort comment-fic meme. Go check it out if you haven't already!

Title: Just a Few Feet
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: injured!dean, if that's a warning...

Title: Leave All Your Love And Your Longing Behind
Rating: R
Pairing: Dean/Lisa
Word Count: ~28,000
Warnings/Spoilers: This contains spoilers for all of season 3 and the beginning of season 4. Also, character death (think season 3 and 4).
Summary: What if, after leaving Lisa and Ben at the beginning of season 3, Dean had changed his mind and turned back around. What would happen then?

Author's Notes: This is my entry for this years [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang.The story follows the events of season three as though Dean and Sam had stayed with Lisa and Ben. Each chapter happens AFTER the episode it's named for. The episodes mostly occur as in canon, and here is a link to the supernatural wiki which has amazingly good summaries of each episode so that if you wish you can follow along and refresh your memory as to what happened. Or, if you're hard core and have the dvds, you can watch along with the story as well. I'm told it can be read and understood without all that, but if you have the time I highly recommend watching the episodes along with the story. The story does not include episode 1 of season 3, I didn't just forget to post it ;)
The title comes from lyrics of the song 'Dog Days Are Over' by Florence and the Machine.

A HUGE thanks to my beta, [livejournal.com profile] quovadimus83  who when I told her my idea said immediately: "I freaking LOVE Ben, sign me up!" And helped me make this story much, much better than it would have been :D

A hug to my artist, [livejournal.com profile] idontagree, who made the lovely dividers I used, and who drew an amazing picture of Ben that I'll hopefully be able to post soon. She's going through a rough time right now, so send her virtual hugs!

And a round of applause for my pinch-hitter artist, [livejournal.com profile] angelicfoodcake, who came up with amazing art that I love, so make sure to check it out in the art post!!!

Edit: A shiny new pdf of the story made by [livejournal.com profile] sgmajorshipper is here. Thank you some much!
